Leanne Linacre
Leanne Linacre, Director of English language school LILA* Liverpool, was recently elected to the position as Chair of ALTO, having already sat on the Board as representative of a Language School (Other category). Leanne has worked in the language travel industry since leaving university when she spent a life-changing year teaching English in Greece. She went on to establish LILA* in 2004 with her sister, and together they have seen the school grow to be one of the most well-respected independent language schools worldwide. Speaking about her role at ALTO, Leanne said, "In my capacity as Chair of ALTO, I aim to grow engagement with the regular and well-regarded events ALTO organises by delving into the key issues our members are facing, and bringing in the best speakers I can."

Agjia Liepina Horan
Agjia Liepina Horan has joined Centre of English Studies (CES) in Dublin as Marketing Executive. She joins the CES team from IH Dublin, where she worked as an Admissions/Registrations Officer since 2015. Having been an English language student herself, Agjia feels she has a unique perspective and understanding of the industry from both the side of the student and now as a language provider. Originally from Latvia, Agija is fluent in English, Latvian and Russian. She will be working closely with the CES Directors in her new role with a view to provide excellent services and communication for all CES's current and future agents and students.

Andrew Rattue

Andrew Rattue has started as the new Principal of St. Clare's in Oxford, UK. The move follows a successful teaching career at various schools, including nine years as Headmaster at RGS Worcester. Andrew has lived in Thailand, the US and most recently in Spain, where he was Headmaster of King's College, Madrid. "There has never been a more important time for adopting a global perspective on the challenges faced by countries around the world," said Andrew. "Our international student body places us in a uniquely privileged position."

John Alessi
John Alessi has been appointed Business Development Manager and has joined the Franchise & Partner Schools Department at Eurocentres Foundation. John has worked in the language travel industry for 16 years and in his previous role he was Academic Manager of the organisation's flagship school in central London for three years. In his new role, John's primary focus will be to distribute Eurocentres' know-how to other schools through the online campus, and to expand the current franchise and partner schools network worldwide.

Nav Rai
Nav Rai has moved to Swiss International Scientific School in Dubai (SISD), UAE, as Boarding Recruitment Executive. Previously, Nav was Business Development Officer at Repton School for four years. In his new role, Nav will be overseeing international student recruitment at SISD's new boarding facilities which are due to open in September 2017.

Benoît-Etienne Domenget
Benoît-Etienne Domenget has started at Sommet Education, a network of hospitality management institutions, as Chief Executive Officer. Benoît-Etienne started his career with Accor Group managing hotel properties in Paris before leading the strategic development of the group in Europe, the Middle East and Africa as Senior Vice-President Development. He then took on the role of Managing Director of Accor Switzerland before leading the Michel Reybier Hospitality Group. In his new role, he will be responsible for providing overall leadership and the strategic vision of Sommet Education.

Lou McLaughlin
Lou McLaughlin has been appointed Executive Director at Eaquals and will take over from Sarah Aitken when she retires in January 2017. Lou has almost 20 years of experience in the international language education industry having been involved in teacher training and ELT management in Spain, Ireland, the UK, and a number of other countries. She was Director and DOS at IH Sabadell for almost seven years, where she was responsible for business development and quality assurance. Lou is also the Founder and current President of ELT Ireland, an association of English language teachers in Ireland, and serves on the Iatefl Board of Trustees.

Laura Jenkins
International House World Organisation (IHWO) has appointed Laura Jenkins as Marketing and Communications Administrator. After working for three years at International House Terrassa in Spain, Laura completed a master's in travel journalism at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and started working in the travel industry, primarily in the field of digital marketing and content. In her new role at IHWO, Laura will be focusing on many areas of marketing, particularly in the study abroad area, and will be heavily involved with events and conferences. She says she is excited to be back with International House.

Riona McGrath
Riona McGrath has been appointed as Head of Sales and Marketing at International House Dublin. She joins the team from a background of education and international tourism, and has a passion for international business and a proven successful track record in sales, marketing and account management across EMEA, the Americas and APAC regions. Most recently, Riona held numerous roles at CarTrawler, a leading travel and technology business, where as Senior Manager she oversaw the management of key markets. Padraig Hourigan, Director of International House Dublin, said, "Riona brings a blend of hugely valuable skills to the role and will ensure that quality service and continuous innovative product offering remain at the heart of International House Dublin's core in the coming years."

Patrick Pheasant
Neas have announced that Patrick Pheasant will take over as Chief Executive Officer from Mark Raven, who is stepping down from the role at the end of this month. Patrick was previously Director at the University of Sydney Centre for English Teaching and he brings to the role of CEO a wealth of international education experience from higher education, VET, high school and Elicos sectors, both nationally and internationally. Having held senior management positions in education for 20 years, Patrick also has extensive experience in change management, online learning and delivery of English language training. He has served on the Neas Advisory Council for two years, most recently as Convenor.

Sami Eltom
Sami Eltom has joined Alpha Plus Group as Director of Sales and Business Development, managing a team that covers the Americas, Europe, Central Asia, Middle East and Africa. Previously, Sami worked at Kaplan International Colleges in 2008 as Sales Advisor MEA & Turkey promoting their UK English Language Schools. After 18 months, he moved to Kaplan Higher Education to recruit students to their UK Pathway colleges as International Marketing Manager for MEA. In 2011, he moved to Cambridge Education Group and held various roles, the latest of which was Regional Sales Director, MENA, Turkey & South Asia, working with a team that promoted their many schools based in the UK, USA, Sweden and the Netherlands.

Ranny Kundi
Ranny Kundi has been appointed as Marketing Manager at Study Links, a guardianship and homestay provider in the UK. His duties will involve strategic planning and implementing of marketing campaigns, networking with agents and organising all of Study Link's digital marketing communications. Ranny holds a BA degree in Events Management and has previously worked within the events industry for five years.
