Mark Cunnington
Mark Cunnington has joined Study Group as Campus Operations Director for the UK & Europe ISC Network. In his new role, Mark will take responsibility for the performance of Study Group's International Study Centres (ISCs) with a particular focus on maximising operational effectiveness and enhancing the overall student experience. Prior to this, Mark worked at Pearson Plc. in a variety of roles, most recently as CEO for Pearson's CTI Education Group in South Africa, a private higher education institution with 12 campuses, over 9,000 students and 1,100 staff.

Christophe Tissot
Christophe Tissot has become the new President of Groupement Fle, the association of French language schools in France. Christophe, who is Director of Institut de Touraine, praised his predecessor Patrick de Bouter, and vowed to carry on the important work of ensuring Groupement Fle is the voice of French schools and to continue lobbying for improvement.

Amanda Kelly
Amanda Kelly has joined English Language Ireland as Marketing & Business Development Manager. She previously worked in the travel and motor industry as a marketing manager. At English Language Ireland, Amanda will be responsible for global student recruitment and will focus on the account management of new and existing partners worldwide. Another large part of her role is the development and implementation of both traditional and digital annual marketing strategies. "I'm thrilled to have gotten this role and am delighted to be part of such a wonderful team," she said.

Suzette Youngs
Suzette Youngs has been appointed Director of Summer School and Short Courses at Taunton School in Somerset, UK. Previously, Suzette taught TEFL at Eckersley Language School in Oxford before moving on to St Clare's as Summer School Director of Studies. Having completed a French and European Studies undergraduate degree and a postgraduate teaching diploma, Suzette's first job was assistant to the publisher at the EL Gazette. "As the Director of Summer School and Short Courses I'll be able to use all my knowledge of the different parts of the school whilst working collaboratively with different teams of colleagues," she said.

Kari Butler
Kari Butler has been appointed Summer Course Director at Concord College in Shropshire, UK. Kari has worked at Concord College for 14 years during the summer months, while working throughout the year as Curriculum Manager within a Sixth Form College. In her new full time position at Concord, Kari is responsible for student recruitment, managing new and existing partners worldwide, and developing the range of programmes on offer to interest international students wishing to study in the UK. As a qualified teacher and experienced education manager, Kari's focus is on ensuring all students achieve their potential, and that all aspects of the student experience is positive and safe. "By providing a challenging and engaging curriculum, along with offering a range of extra-curricular activities, students can meet their individual aspirations in a safe and enjoyable environment," she said.

Callum Palmer

In his new position, Callum will be responsible for global student recruitment and will be focusing on the account management of new and existing partners worldwide.

Caroline Lagden
Caroline Lagden has recently joined International House World Organisation (IHWO) as Marketing and Communications Manager. Caroline has a background in digital marketing, communications, branding and website development, and will have responsibility in these areas in her new role, as well as being involved in events and conferences. She has been in the food safety and certification industry for the last four years, and as a keen traveller is looking forward to working in the field of language education with IHWO.

Rebecca Willis
Rebecca Willis has joined the team at City College Brighton and Hove as International Sales & Marketing Officer. Rebecca has worked in the language travel industry for over 16 years and in her previous role she managed the marketing and administration of English language courses at ELC Eastbourne. She led the school through a number of successful British Council and ISI inspections and contributed towards the development of a well-known and respected brand. Rebecca has also worked for IALC (International Association of Language Centres) organising agent workshops and roadshows. In her new role, she will be primarily responsible for developing the year-round EFL provision for the college.

John Veale
John Veale joins The English Language Centre as the new Centre Manager for ELC Eastbourne. John led British Study Centres in Brighton for 14 years and was instrumental in the British Council and ISI success of the centre. He is experienced in all aspects of leading a successful EFL centre, focusing on student outcomes, achievements and experiences. In addition to overseeing ELC Eastbourne, John will join the overall ELC management team, contributing to the future development of ELC and its schools in Brighton and Eastbourne.

Tessa Howard-Vyse
Tessa Howard-Vyse has been appointed Director of Marketing and External Relations at Bishopstrow College, UK. She will join the College's SMT and work alongside the Principal and Directors in executing the College's Strategic Plan. Tessa has been actively involved in international student recruitment at British boarding schools over the past 10+ years, at both Strathallan and more recently, Mayfield School. At both of these schools, Tessa had a material impact on student recruitment, including the recruitment of international students. Bishopstrow College is an independent International Study Centre offering English language and academic pathway programmes to prepare international students, aged 7-17 years, for entry into top boarding schools in the UK and overseas.

Sean O'Donnell
Sean O'Donnell has joined Apollo Langauge Centre in Ireland as Academic Director following five years at IH Dublin. With a BA in Languages for International Communication, Sean started teaching English after becoming Celta qualified and quickly realised this was the career for him. Sean then obtained his Delta qualification and moved onto numerous roles including Academic and Summer School Manager. Steven O'Dwyer, Director of Apollo, commented, "Having worked closely with Sean for almost five years, I got to see first-hand the passion and drive he has for working in this sector. We are very excited to have Sean on board, and he will be an integral part of the Apollo team."

Leanne Linacre
Leanne Linacre, Director of English language school LILA* Liverpool, was recently elected to the position as Chair of ALTO, having already sat on the Board as representative of a Language School (Other category). Leanne has worked in the language travel industry since leaving university when she spent a life-changing year teaching English in Greece. She went on to establish LILA* in 2004 with her sister, and together they have seen the school grow to be one of the most well-respected independent language schools worldwide. Speaking about her role at ALTO, Leanne said, "In my capacity as Chair of ALTO, I aim to grow engagement with the regular and well-regarded events ALTO organises by delving into the key issues our members are facing, and bringing in the best speakers I can."
