French in Normandy and HES partner for new junior course

French language provider French in Normandy and summer camp company HES Idiomas have joined forces to offer a new French in Andorra course.

The residential programme at the HES Rialp Camp will be available during July to students aged between six and 17 years old, with language classes in the morning and a choice of 15 different activities in the afternoon, including pony trekking, football, basketball, rafting and karting. Participants can select one activity for a whole week or a different activity every day.

The new French programme adds to existing English and Spanish language camps for HES Idiomas, which is also a Spain-based study travel agency and an accredited member of national agency association Aseproce.

"This is an exciting new departure for us," said HES CEO, Ferran Casas. "We had been thinking about teaching French because it is such an important language and one that is essential on the world stage. With the arrival of Macron and the increased popularity of the French language, we thought 2018 was a great year to launch this project."

Ferran explained that French is widely used in Andorra, where French education and culture are held in high esteem.

"Working in Andorra, it seemed only natural to add French as an option, but we wanted to offer the best possible French language courses and so looked around for an expert who would be interested in joining us. I am pleased to announce that French in Normandy, our first choice as a partner for this project, is now on board," he added.

The two partners explained that the collaboration snowballed from an initial meeting at the StudyTravel Alphe Spain conference in Malaga, the latest edition of which commences later this week.

Eleri Maitland, Owner of French in Normandy, said, "Our junior programme was very small and in homestay. We could not find suitable residential accommodation in line with current safeguarding legislation in Normandy, so the whole programme was in question, when suddenly Ferran came up with this idea, and it is just great."

She added, "What we love is the first-rate, four-star quality residential accommodation in a secure location, which corresponds to what our clients are looking for in a programme which is guaranteed to delight any youngster, even the most recalcitrant teenager."

French in Normandy was established in 1992 and was inducted into the StudyTravel Star Awards Super Star Hall of Fame in 2012 as the first school to win the ST Star French Language School award five times.
